My Response to Sexual Survival for Geeks

My criticism of the SxSW Sexual Survival Geek slide show by violet blue:

#1. I don't think there's any reason to know gender sexual stereotypes in geek scenes. Is the purpose of this to divine the often inscrutable geek gender? I say just use "they" as a pronoun and open everybody with "You look a little like buddy holly" and go from there.

Famous glasses

I liked this video

Partly because its patently ridiculous (Possibly Chronicles of ridiculous), and partly because I think it reflects the absurdity of our guilt-based society.

Tomboy songs

This post by Geek Porn Girl and the accompanying music videos reminded me of my deep affection for tomboys. I also cried a little the first time I heard Dar Williams' "When I was a boy". That song is like some kind of magical tear dislodging machine.

I am probably not unique in being amused by Those Darlin's song 'Be Your Bro'. I am probably unique in being only person who thought of the surrealistic flash game Pipedreamz and its haunting demotivational speech "I'm your boss but also your bro."

When can someone comment on the surgery for whats in your pants?

I once saw a friend's post on Livejournal about cosmetic vulva surgery. A boyfriend in LA inquired whether she she had cosmetic vulva surgery and that freaked her out. Apparently strangers inquiring about the status of surgery you have on your genitals is still pretty novel in the cis-world. As a trans person, I've become kind of apathetic about random inquiries on the medical history of what goes in my pants.

ART AND ROPE HOORAY

Here's me after my girlfriend played around with some rope and subsequently photo editing software. It looks like I'm bound for a satanic sacrifice from the 20's!
