My Response to Sexual Survival for Geeks

My criticism of the SxSW Sexual Survival Geek slide show by violet blue:

#1. I don't think there's any reason to know gender sexual stereotypes in geek scenes. Is the purpose of this to divine the often inscrutable geek gender? I say just use "they" as a pronoun and open everybody with "You look a little like buddy holly" and go from there.

Sexual competition

In some ways, sexuality may involve competition.  People have choices of who they can be with (Especially women.). People maintain standards of who they want to be with (Especially women). Sometimes, these standards are dependent on the available options. This introduces competition into sexuality.

Unfortunately, many people become overly fixated on the element of competition in sexuality. I would suggest the cause is attempting to shift into stuff that masculine western society does not understand well (sex, love, happiness, relationships) to something that masculine western society does understand (Competition, distribution of resources)
